Tomato Lemon Giant – Russian Heirloom Beefsteak

A striking Russian commercial variety, Lemon Giant is known for its exceptional productivity and eye-catching fruit. With its unique color pattern and outstanding flavor, it is both a visual showpiece and a reliable performer in the garden.

  • Fruit: Very large tomatoes, up to 5 inches across, with a slightly conical shape. Bright yellow skin is streaked with green that matures into subtle red blushes, creating a distinctive striped appearance.
  • Flavor: Sweet and refreshing, with a hint of lemon. Juicy texture makes it particularly enjoyable fresh.
  • Best Uses: Excellent for fresh eating, salads, and sandwiches. Also suitable for cooking, producing a bright golden paste with a refined, gourmet look.
  • Growth Habit: Compact, determinate plants reaching about 3 feet tall, but heavily loaded with oversized fruit. Requires strong support to prevent stems from breaking, or straw padding beneath clusters to keep fruit off the ground.
  • Harvest: Mid-season maturity at around 80 days. Plants yield heavily over the summer, producing consistent crops of large, colorful tomatoes.

The Lemon Giant combines striking good looks, generous yields, and a sweet, lemony flavor—making it a standout among Russian heirlooms and a centerpiece for any tomato collection.

One Packet contains minimum 20 seeds.

I love all yellow tomatoes in my salads, but this one - with slightly tart "lemony" taste - is just excellent. The name "Lemon Giant" is perfect for this tomato - it does have lemony taste and fruits grow enormously big. The branches of this tomato are surprisingly weak and thin, looks like all strength of the plant goes into fruits - ignoring branches. I have to use all kinds of stakes and ties to keep the fruits above the ground. However each plant produces many (up to 10) large fruits. I love it!
